We inspect and repair shocks, struts, springs, control arms, bushes, ball joints, tie rods, drop links, wheel bearings and steering components, plus air-suspension and electronic-damper faults on the European models that have them. Pothole damage is a speciality by necessity.
Symptoms of suspension and steering wear
- Knocking or clunking over bumps
- Steering feels loose, vague or wanders
- Car pulls to one side
- Uneven or inner-edge tyre wear
- Bouncy or crashing ride, nose-dive when braking
- Humming or growling that changes with speed (wheel bearing)
- Vehicle sits low on one corner (air suspension)
- Suspension or "chassis" warning lights on European models
European suspension has more to check
Many BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Jaguar Land Rover models use multi-link suspension with several arms and bushes per corner; Range Rover, Mercedes and Porsche models often add air springs, compressors and electronically controlled dampers. A knock on these cars has more possible sources, and an air-suspension fault can be a leak, a compressor, a valve block or a height sensor. Proper inspection and, where relevant, a scan of the suspension module prevents replacing the wrong part.
After pothole damage
A hard hit can bend a rim, damage a tyre internally, knock the alignment out and crack or bend a control arm. If the steering wheel is off-centre, the car pulls, or there is a new noise after a pothole, have it inspected before the damage spreads to tyres and bearings.
Questions about suspension & steering
Do you do wheel alignment?
Alignment is required after most steering and suspension repairs. Ask on WhatsApp and we will arrange it with the repair.
Can you repair air suspension?
We diagnose and repair air-suspension faults on the European models we service, including leaks, compressors and sensors. Ask on WhatsApp with your model and the symptom.
